Agenda for 4/13
West Wilkes HS & MS Spring Carowinds Music Festival Trip
Who: All students who participated in MPA this year.
Agenda: Spring Band Shirt( will be provided by Boosters), Appropriate casual wear. Shorts or pants with pockets that will allow you to ride rides without losing your items. School dress code applies. No bathing suits. Comfortable shoes that tie are suggest so they do not create blisters or fall of during rides. All ticket and permissions forms are du Tuesday 3/26. Chaperone ticket funds due on Wednesday 3/27. Base price for students is $65 and chaperones $55.
7:15 AM Students arrive to school and report to WWHS Band Room. WWMS must prepare to bring instruments home from the MS on Friday. Eat breakfast before you arrive!

9:30Am Band Arrives at Carowinds
10AM Band enters park
All groups should eat lunch before the MS Set up time below.
12:00 WWMS Band meets at entrance to get instruments and prepare for performance

1PM WWMS Warm up. HS Band moves to auditorium to observe MS performance

2PM Band moves to trailer to pack up and return to park.
4:15PM WWHS Band arrives at Front Gate to set up for performance

5PM WWHS Warm up. ALL MS at Auditorium to observe HS performance

6 PM All students leave park together and loads bus for departure
6:45PM Band departs for dinner and Home. Students eat dinner on the road provided by Boosters.
10:20 PM Arrival at WWHS for unloading and pick up.
Rules for Traveling by Bus.
- All school rules apply. Our Bands are always expected to behave like ladies and gentlemen as our standards are above and beyond regular school behavior standards. Remember when ever you are in or out of uniform you represent our Band, School and Community. Uphold our traditions of excellence by meeting those expectations every day.
- Students will stay in assigned seats and follow all behavior protocols at all times.
- Plan ahead. Use the facilities before you board the bus.......
Agenda For Any Home Game Night and cleanup for any performance:
1:30 - 5:15PM
5:15 PM Boosters provide dinner for band members.
5:45 Dress Out move to Band Room Dress for game will be full dress uniforms . Black mid calf socks required. Black marching shoes. Show shirt is required under uniform.
6:45 line up in courtyard and move to field.
7:12 Band Performs Star Spangled Banner
7:30 Game Begins - student will perform half time show.
Students are expected to remain for the entire game. Students will have most of the 3rd quarter off to visit the concession stand. Students must be in the stand by the last 2 min. of the 3rd quarter.
Students will be picked up after the game within 20 mins of returning to the band room for clean up. All students will be dismissed by the band leadership after the clean up of the band room is completed.
Agenda For Any AWAY Game Night:
2 - 4:45PM Rehearsal for performance
5:00PM Dress and depart for performance and dinner. Non performing Dress will be show shirt, Jeans, Marching Shoes Black Socks. Leaves for Dinner at Downtown Millers Creek. Students provide their own funds for dinner and third quarter break. Jackets May be required as cold weather approaches.

6:45PM Arrive at Game
7:30 Game Begins - students stay entire Game.
Students should be picked up 1/2 hour after arrival back at school. Students are encourage to call parents during travel to arrange transportation times.
The band will follow all clean up procedures as described in the section below.
Rules for Festival Outdoor Stadium Seating.
Sit /stand in assigned location. DO NOT eat any where else but in the stands in the West Wilkes Section. The West Wilkes Band will sit together. The Buddy System will be used at all times. Students from other bands should not sit with our band. The WWHS Band and families will be expected to follow facility protocols and/or procedures of the host site. If visitors or family do not wish to follow the band expectations they are welcome to sit in any other part of the stadium. If seating is too crowded or protocols are not followed the band will move to the visitor stands. If students do not adhere to these safety protocols the band will depart for home early before awards or individual students will be required to have their parents pick them up onsite.

Concert Dress: Per Band Manual: WWMS Red WWMS Band shirt ( delivered week of concert), Black dress pants or knee length or longer skirts, Black Leggings may be worn with a proper skirt only. Black dress shoes, black socks. WWHS Black and White Formal attire. Ties and jackets are encouraged. Ladies may wear full black dresses. Black dress shoes and socks.

PE Monroe Auditorium, Lenoir Rhyne University, Hickory, NC
Agenda: FORMAL CONCERT DRESS: Red Band Shirt, Black Dress Bottoms (skirts, dress pants, slacks), Black Dress shoes and socks. Remember all shirts must be tucked in. Boys should wear a belt if needed. Ladies should not wear leggings( unless under a skirt) and shirts should be tucked in. Students not properly dressed may be asked to not attend. If you have any questions about Concert Cloths please see/contact Mr. Dauer by 3/14. Some concert shirts are still available for $15. Students eat breakfast before departure.

12/9 Winter Concert Agenda and Info
WARM UP: - MS students will put cases in the hallway behind the gym of of the Main hallway. Just walk past the gym toward the bathrooms and turn right past the double doors.
Dress Code info: Concert are formal events: Please remember no jeans, t shirts, sneakers or work boots.
WWMS: WWMS students will wear Band shirt and black dress shoes and socks with black dress pants or skirts( knee length or longer).
WWHS: WWHS band students will wear black and white formal dress code. Ties are encouraged. Black dress jackets are optional but look great. Marching shoes will work with black dress socks. If you have any questions about dress code for concerts please ask Mr. Dauer. All shirts must have collars or blouses must meet dress code. If your child has concert dress clothes that they have outgrown the program will be glad to receive clean and gently used attire to pass along as needed.
WINTER CONCERT SEATING: Seating will be open on the North side of the Gym and optional seating on the South Front section of the Gym. Handicap or assisted seating will be reserved for the front row. Student performers will be seated in the bleachers on the South side - center and back bleachers.
After the concert - Feel free to chat and congratulate our students! If you can please help stack chairs to help our hard working students and Band Boosters get home in a timely fashion after our concert.
12/15 Band Banquet: The WWHS Band Program will have a Winter Band Banquet at the WWHS Cafeteria. Blackhawk Band members will be sponsored by the Band Boosters will have a Taco Bar catered for the evening. Parents and Families are invited to join! Tickets for Family members are $13 each and is due by Thursday 12/8 during class. Students will fill out a google form that day in class with the number of paid tickets. Wear your favorite UGLY Sweater or create your own at the banquet!
12/16 WWMS In school Concert: WWHS Band travels to WWMS for In School Concert with select WWMS bands.
WWHS Band Students will travel by bus from WWHS to WWMS at 8:15AM and return around 10:45-11AM.
12/16 Dress Code:
WWMS Band 6th and 8th: Follow school festive dress code for the day or wear the school band shirt. Bring your own holiday hat!
WWHS Band: Jeans, band shoes, holiday hat and your choice of holiday ugly sweater or festive shirt. If no festive shirt/sweater wear your band shirt!

3:45. Students should arrive at the band room around Students can arrange at WWMS to take the bus tomorrow as several of our students do or travel by parent.Parents will need to send a note with bus students to school if it is not already arranged.
5PM Pick up front of WWHSWe will rehearse until pick up time at 5PM. Pick up/Drop off should be in front of WWHS. A Remind was sent out last week and a Canvas announcement is also available to the students on their band canvas page.

10/21 Home Game MS BAND NIGHT AGENDA
WWHS band stays after school for rehearsal.
Follow regular home game schedule below.
- 6PM WWMS students arrive for line up in Band Courtyard behind the band room at WWHS. Students who can play Star Spangled banner and at least 1 pep tune as taught in class should bring their instrument! All others be present for line up/recognition and seating in stands.
- All MS students should sit with the HS band in the stands through the 1st,2nd quarters & Half Time show in order to earn credit.
- Students will be able to visit the concession stands during 3rd quarter using the buddy system and will return to the stands during the 4th quarter unless signed out by parents in person.
- MS students needing to sign out during 3rd quarter must do so with Parents in the stands. Students will not be dismissed from the stands during 3rd quarter quarter without a parent. MS students should not sign out during the 4th quarter as the band will be performing. Otherwise all MS students will be picked up after the game and Jam session in the WWHS Band courtyard in back of the school.

Dress Code:
Dress Code info: Concert are formal events: Please remember no jeans, t shirts,sneakers or work boots.
WWMS: WWMS students will wear Band shirt and black dress shoes and socks with black dress pants or skirts( knee length or longer).
WWHS: WWHS band students will wear black and white formal dress code. Ties are encouraged. Black dress jackets are optional but look great. Marching shoes will work with black dress socks. If you have any questions about dress code for concerts please ask Mr. Dauer. All shirts must have collars or blouses must meet dress code. If your child has concert dress clothes that they have outgrown the program will be glad to receive clean and gently used attire to pass along as needed.
WINTER CONCERT SEATING: As of now all guests and audience members will be required to wear a mask for this performance while in the New Gym. This will not be optional. Seating will be open on BOTH SIDES of the Gym and guest are asked to separate by families with proper social distancing in the stands. Handicap or assisted seating will be reserved for the front row. Student performers will be seated in chairs on the floor of the gym.
The Outside doors will be open during the concert so please bring a winter jacket as it "may get cold". We could use some tonight!
Student PPE: Students will be expected to wear assigned PPE for the performance which will be the assigned face mask or shield.
12/16 Band Banquet: The WWHS Band Program will have a Winter Band Banquet at the WWHS Cafeteria. Blackhawk Band members sponsored by the Band Boosters will have a Taco Bar catered for the evening. Parents and Families are invited to join. Tickets for Family members are $11 each and is due by THURSDAY 12/9 during class. Students will fill out a google form that day in class with the number of paid tickets.
12/17 WWMS In school Concert:WWHS Band travels to WWMS for In School Concert with select WWMS bands.
WWHS Band Students will travel by bus from WWHS to WWMS at 8:15AM and return around 10:45-11AM.
12/17 Dress Code:
WWMS Band 6th and 8th: Follow school festive dress code for the day or wear the school band shirt. Bring your own holiday hat!
WWHS Band: Jeans, band shoes, holiday hat and your choice of holiday ugly sweater or festive shirt. If no festive shirt/sweater wear your band shirt!
The band will follow all clean up procedures as described in the section below.

CONCERT DRESS is White dress top, Black Bottoms( skirt or pants), Black Dress shoes and socks.
Cost: All County fees are $10 per student. All student fees will be due by 1/30/23 to the director.
Transportation:
-You will need to provide your own transportation for all events on Wednesday and Thursday.
-Students will be excused from school on both days and will have their attendance taken each day at the Walker Center. Attendance will be taken when a student is in their seat BEFORE rehearsal. Please be remember the old band saying: “If you're early you’re on time; if you’re on time you’re late!”
-Please see your director for additional transportation arrangements as needed.
Wilkes County High School Band Workshops
What: All Wilkes High School Band students will participate in instrument workshops sponsored by Western Carolina University clinicians. Clinics are being organized for instrument specfic clinics to help our High School Band students explore more opportunities and reach the next level of their performance!
When and Where: Hosted at West Wilkes High School
Friday, February 17th Times to be released by 2/1/23. Estimated times will be 10Am - 2PM
Meet at 9:45Am in the West High Cafeteria for introductions and room assignments!
Cost: Free and Lunch will be provided!
Transportation:

Wednesday May 17th North Wilkesboro Speedway Performance: Look for us on our possible televised performance at 8:46!
Students, Staff and drivers will receive a ticket on the trip for the race.(Tickets were passed out Tuesday The band will attend the race after the performance. Students will be given an extra ticket for family the day before the race. After the performance students will be expected to stay with the band unless they are signed out by their parent in person with Mr. Dauer. students may wear shorts under their uniform and should plan on bringing their band sweatshirt for any possible cooler weather during the race. Hats can be brought on the bus to wear after the performance as long as they meet school dress code. Students must wear their band show shirt for the performance.
1:45PM students depart for North Wilkesboro Speedway . Students may grab something to eat on the way to the racetrack.
Dress: Full Band Uniform, Bibbers on for travel, show shirt and band sweatshirt for the evening as needed. Earplugs will be provided.
Students will stop at Millers Creek Bojangles for a togo meal. Food and drink at the race will be $2 retro pricing.
4:30PM estimated arrival at track due to traffic. ALL following times are estimated until confirmed by the speedway.
